Create The Habit
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Our goal as leaders is to replicate Jesus, to be more like Him in our response and desires in life. How can we train ourselves to care like He does, love like He does, see like He does? Well, we can’t on our own.
Becoming more like Jesus is a beautiful balance of His grace that meets us exactly where we are and our own willingness to yield to the transformation He desires to bring to our hearts.
So, in order to create the habit of coming to Jesus, surrendering your burdens, finding rest, taking up His yoke, and learning from Him, you have to be willing to be transformed by the Spirit. The most curated and thought through plan isn’t allows going to lead up to Jesus and create habits that last. The habits that last are the ones that come from a work of the Spirit.
